About
My experience as a learning and performance professional spans a wide range of learning contexts: medical device engineering and clinical staff training, higher education faculty professional development and course quality systems, facilitating graduate courses on educational technology topics, as well as coaching adults with developmental disabilities to live and work independently.
As an instructional designer and eLearning developer, I’ve had the good fortune to partner with engineers, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and PhDs from myriad academic and professional disciplines (Neuroscience, Engineering, Jazz Studies, Photography, English Literature, Applied Mathematics, and more!). When working with subject matter experts, my goal is to leverage their expertise to best meet the learning needs and preferences of their respective audiences in order to reach key performance goals and drive organizational value.

I grew up fascinated by the music of the Beatles and their innovative production and engineering techniques–many of which were facilitated by the talents of George Martin, Geoff Emerick, and others. This led me on a lifelong journey learning about analog and digital audio engineering and culminated in my own modest, but professional-level, home studio. These skills and tools enable me to incorporate high-quality voiceover into my projects when necessary.
Though I’m no George Martin, I see my role as that of a producer in the learning and performance profession. I enjoy the process of challenging talent and organizations to clarify where they want to go (and why); offering strategic, technical, and creative insights on how to get there; measuring and celebrating progress; and leading (and following) with empathy and purpose.
I’m a drummer with interest in several styles of music. I’m inspired and influenced by the greasy, second-line feel of Joseph Modeliste; the heavy backbeat of Mick Fleetwood; and the explorative and light touch of Billy Martin from Medeski Martin & Wood. I’ve played professionally in classic rock, jazz, funk, cowboy country, and afro-cuban jazz bands.
Like many Coloradans, you likely find me on the local trails admiring the majestic foothills. I also enjoy photography, working out, and learning about nutrition.
